Overview

Neurology department of Amala Institute of Medical Sciences started in 1997 and now it provides evidence-based tertiary level management facilities for all neurological diseases.

Services

We have a dedicated facility with Video EEG machines for epilepsy monitoring. In addition, outpatient EEG monitoring, portable EEG monitoringand paediatric epilepsy programmes are also available. There is also a full-fledged sleep lab for the investigation and management of various sleep disorders.

Comprehensive services are available for clinical assessment, objective documentation, electrodiagnostic testing and laboratory evaluation of underlying cause and treatment of patients with neuropathy. We provide a focused neuro-rehabilitation programme for patients with neuropathy. Tests including nerve conduction studies , EMG etc are available

We are a stroke ready hospital with a dedicated team including neurologists , emergency medicine consultants , neurosurgeons and critical care physicians.Emergency treatment of ischemic stroke including thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy are available 24x7.Interventional Neurology is a subspecialty which treats vascular diseases of the brain like stroke, aneurysms , AV malformations etc by use of angiographic procedures and using various devices.

Other neurological conditions like Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders , spinal cord disorders , Autoimmune diseases etc are also dealth with.
