Admission to the library is restricted to members only. Library membership is open to students, teachers, and non teaching staff of Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, teachers and research scholars of Amala Cancer Research Centre and doctors of the Amala hospital, Ayurveda and Homeo, all para medical staff and students. Membership to any other category of users can be given only with the approval of the joint director. On special request, outsiders are also admitted for a short period for reference with permission from the joint director. To become a member, a person has to fill up a prescribed application form and submit it to the librarian.

Application of research scholars should be recommended both by the respective research guide and the head of the research centre. Provisional registration will not be considered forlibrary membership.
