	Overview:
	Biochemistry is a subject that is growing at a very fast pace, as seen from the number of leading journals, publications and citations of publications. It is a subject which is generally very active in research, teaching (number of courses) and service (clinical biochemistry investigations)

Activities:

Undergraduate education: Teaching for MBBS and BSc.(Nursing) Research: Takes MSc.students from other colleges for research work leading to

dissertation.

Clinical Biochemistry:

Equipped with three autoanalysers for general biochemistry tests, one enhanced chemiluminescence enzyme immunoassay autoanalyser (Vitro ECI),

blood gas and electrolyte analysers, serum electrophoresis. Clinical Biochemistry laboratory reforms about 1000

Future Programmes:

Commencement of courses of MD in Biochemistry, Ph.D and MSc. in Medical Laboratory Technology within next five years. stablishment of

accreditation of the Clinical Laboratory, Metabolic Disorders Laboratory and Molecular Biology Laboratory are future projects.
